Motorcyclist Dies in Collision with Semi-Truck in Kennewick

Kennewick, Wash. — A 59-year-old Idaho man was killed on Saturday night after his motorcycle collided with a semi-truck at a red light on Highway 395.

David Breaux of Emmett, Idaho, was riding north on Highway 395 near Hildebrand Boulevard around 10:50 p.m. when he struck the rear of a stopped semi-truck and trailer, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

Authorities reported that speed was a factor in the crash, but drugs and alcohol were not. Breaux was riding a specially constructed 2008 motorcycle at the time of the incident. He was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where he later died.

The semi-truck was operated by 39-year-old Dongxun Xue from Monterey Park, California, who was unharmed in the collision. WSP is continuing to investigate the crash.

No lane closures were reported following the incident, and all details have been confirmed by relevant authorities.
