A Dixon man died early Monday after his motorcycle crashed on I-44 in Franklin County, authorities said.
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. — The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on westbound I-44 near the Staunton exit.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 47-year-old motorcyclist was riding a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic when he lost control, veering off the right side of the roadway and colliding with a mile marker sign.
The impact ejected the rider, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators are examining the crash, and no additional details regarding lane closures or other vehicles involved were provided. Emergency crews responded to the scene.
