Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On I-75 In Detroit: Police

DETROIT — A 41-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 75 late Tuesday night, according to Michigan State Police.

The incident occurred at 10:30 p.m. on northbound I-75 near Dearborn Street. Police reported that the motorcyclist was struck by a semi-truck, which left the scene, and was subsequently hit by multiple other vehicles.

Authorities found the man deceased on the roadway. A 50-year-old semi-truck driver contacted dispatch, stating he had hit something and subsequently left the scene out of fear; he later traveled to Warren, police said.

The driver is currently being interviewed by police. The case will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review.

Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw emphasized, “If you are involved in a traffic crash, stay on the scene. It’s your legal responsibility and the right thing to do.”
