YORK (WGME) – A 27-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle collision in York on Monday afternoon.
According to police, the crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 1 and Mountain Road.
Authorities reported that a driver traveling south on Route 1 stopped to permit another vehicle to turn left onto Mountain Road, at which point the motorcycle, also headed south, maneuvered around the stopped vehicle and collided with the turning vehicle.
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning.
Emergency responders and law enforcement are continuing to investigate the incident. The intersection experienced temporary lane closures while authorities worked at the scene.
