WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. —
A crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle resulted in the death of a 35-year-old man on July 11.
The Winston-Salem Police Department reported the incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Main Street and Konnoak Drive. Daniel Clinard was operating a 2024 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when Hilario Avila Hernandez, 42, allegedly turned in front of him, causing the collision.
Clinard was pronounced dead at the scene. According to authorities, Hernandez is charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and additional offenses, including operating a vehicle without a license and displaying a fictitious registration plate.
Hernandez was released from custody after posting a $10,000 unsecured bond. In total, he faces several charges related to the crash and driving violations.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and authorities are continuing to assess the circumstances surrounding the crash.
