OSAGE COUNTY, Mo. — A motorcycle accident on US-63 at County Road 512 on Saturday, August 8, resulted in one fatality and two injuries.
At approximately 1:54 p.m., a 54-year-old Boonville man driving a Chevrolet Silverado crossed the center line, colliding with a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by a 61-year-old Hartsburg man. The impact caused the Hartsburg motorcycle to overturn, ejecting both the rider and his 50-year-old female passenger.
The Hartsburg man was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital by ARCH Air Medical Services. The second motorcycle, operated by a 54-year-old Jefferson City man, was also struck by debris, causing it to overturn. The Jefferson City rider sustained moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital by Osage Ambulance.
Authorities have not announced any ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident. Traffic was affected on US-63 during the emergency response.
