A three-vehicle crash involving motorcycles and a pickup in Osage County on Saturday afternoon resulted in one fatality and two injuries.
The incident occurred at 1:54 p.m. on August 8 at the intersection of Highway 63 and County Road 512, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. A 54-year-old man from Boonville was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado north when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The impact caused the Harley-Davidson to overturn, ejecting its 61-year-old driver and a 50-year-old female passenger, both from Hartsburg. Debris from the collision subsequently struck a second motorcycle, a 2002 Harley-Davidson operated by a 64-year-old man from Jefferson City, causing it to overturn as well.
The Osage County coroner pronounced the 61-year-old victim dead at the scene at 3 p.m. The female passenger was seriously injured and transported by ARCH Air to University Hospital, while the 64-year-old motorcycle driver sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Osage Ambulance to the same hospital.
Authorities confirmed that the 61-year-old motorcyclist was not wearing a safety device, while both passengers of the second motorcycle were secured. The Chevrolet driver was also using a safety device and reported no injuries.
The Chevrolet sustained extensive damage and was towed by 4J’s Towing, while both motorcycles were removed by Osage County Towing. The crash is under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Major Crash Investigation Unit, marking Troop F’s fourth traffic fatality in August and 40th of 2026.
