St. Augustine Motorcyclist Killed, Woman Seriously Hurt in Flagler County Crash in Florida

Flagler County, Florida (June 30, 2023) – A male motorcyclist was killed, and his female passenger was seriously injured following a crash involving three vehicles along State Road A1A in Flagler County Thursday evening, according to a police report.

The deadly collision happened at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at the intersection of A1A and Bay Drive.

FHP say a southbound SUV stopped at the intersection to make a left turn onto Bay Drive. A pickup truck that was driving behind the SUV did not stop and crashed into the rear of the SUV. The impact caused the pickup truck to spin to the center line, where it struck a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 53-year-old man from St. Augustine, was pronounced dead at Advent Health Palm Coast. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

His passenger, a 52-year-old woman, also from St. Augustine, sustained serious injuries in the incident. Authorities say both the rider and passenger were wearing helmets at the time of the collision.

The SUV driver, a 56-year-old woman, and the driver of the pickup truck, a 42-year-old woman, were not injured in the incident.

No additional information regarding the fatal motorcycle accident was provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
