Three Dead, Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Adelphi
ADELPHI, MD – Three individuals died, and two others sustained injuries in a crash involving two cars and a motorcycle late Tuesday night, according to Prince George’s County Police.
The collision occurred at 11:25 p.m. at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road. Authorities said the motorcycle and one vehicle were traveling north on New Hampshire when another vehicle attempted a left turn onto Metzerott, resulting in a collision.
The motorcyclist, a man, and two occupants in one of the cars, a man and a woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two individuals in the other vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency responders arrived to find significant damage, including the motorcycle reportedly “obliterated” and debris scattered. One vehicle veered off the road and struck a fence.
New Hampshire Avenue was closed for approximately six hours but reopened shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, according to authorities.
This incident marks the second fatal motorcycle crash in Prince George’s County within the week.
