Two Injured in Pembina County Motorcycle Accident

ST. THOMAS, N.D. — Two individuals were injured in a motorcycle collision with a pickup truck Saturday afternoon on Highway 66.

The incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. west of St. Thomas, involving a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the motorcycle was carrying a 36-year-old male driver and a 27-year-old female passenger, both from St. Thomas.

Witnesses reported that a group of motorcyclists was traveling westbound when the driver of the Harley braked sharply for another slowing motorcycle. The driver lost control, veered into the eastbound lane, and struck the Silverado’s rear driver’s-side tire and box area. Both riders were thrown from the motorcycle and were not wearing helmets, sustaining serious injuries.

Emergency responders transported the motorcycle driver and passenger to a hospital in Grafton, with the driver later transferred to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks for further treatment. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 27-year-old woman from Louisiana, was unharmed and wearing a seat belt.

The names of those involved have not been released. The North Dakota State Patrol is investigating the crash, aided by the Pembina County Sheriff’s Office, Cavalier County Ambulance, and the St. Thomas Quick Response Unit/Fire Department.
