Two Killed in Albany County Single-Motorcycle Crash.

LARAMIE, Wyo. — Two people died in a motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 287 near Laramie on July 21 at approximately 1 p.m.

Brian Short, 47, of Wyoming, and Donna Simkins, 46, of South Dakota, were traveling north when their motorcycle’s rear tire locked, causing them to skid. The motorcycle tipped over onto its right side, ejecting both riders, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP).

Neither occupant was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. WHP officials said an equipment failure is suspected as the primary cause of the crash.

Emergency response teams were deployed to the scene, but both individuals were confirmed deceased.

The investigation remains ongoing, and updates may follow as more information is available.
