Two Statesboro motorcyclists die in separate crashes on SR 26.

STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) – Two motorcycle crashes on State Route 26 claimed the lives of two Statesboro residents on Friday morning.

Georgia State Patrol (GSP) responded to the incidents on October 16 at approximately 6:45 a.m. at Mud Road and 8:22 a.m. at Amanda Road.

In the first crash at Mud Road, Angela Snider, 54, of Statesboro was riding eastbound on a Yamaha motorcycle when a Ford F-250, driven by Donald Funk, 54, of Pembroke, failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign. The vehicles collided, resulting in Snider being thrown from her motorcycle; she sustained fatal injuries. GSP reported that criminal charges are pending.

The second incident occurred at Amanda Road, where a Hyundai Sonata and a Ford Focus were traveling east. The Hyundai slowed to turn left, and the Ford struck its right rear bumper. Jeffrey Kearse, 64, of Statesboro was traveling west on a Can-Am motorcycle, which then collided with the Hyundai. Kearse was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, Kamberlyn Beck, 26, of Statesboro, was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Hyundai has been identified as Heather Allmond, 41, of Claxton.

Both crash investigations are ongoing, according to GSP.
