PENDLETON — A 32-year-old Umatilla man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 84 on January 13.
According to the Oregon State Police, troopers responded to the accident at 6:09 p.m. on the westbound side near Exit 216 for Mission. David Andrew Agnew was operating a black Honda motorcycle in the left lane when he began to lose control.
Witnesses reported that the motorcycle wobbled before crashing into the median. Agnew sustained serious injuries and was transported to CHI St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton.
Authorities cited Agnew for driving while suspended and failing to install an ignition interlock device. State court records indicate he was previously cited on December 13 for illegal alteration of a registration plate, driving while suspended, and failure to carry proof of insurance. That case remains open in Umatilla County Circuit Court.
Emergency response teams managed the scene, but no further details on lane closures or additional vehicles involved were provided. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
