Motorcyclist Ejected After Hitting Deer, Struck by Car Near Ranchester
RANCHSTER, WY – A motorcyclist was ejected from their bike after colliding with a deer, subsequently being hit by a car on a dark roadway on October 15.
The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Highway 14, approximately a mile west of Ranchester, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol. The motorcyclist, a 38-year-old male, was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Emergency responders from the Ranchester Fire Department and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene shortly after the incident. The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Authorities confirmed that the car driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The Highway Patrol has closed one lane of Highway 14 while the investigation continues, and tow services are on-site to remove the motorcycle and vehicle involved.
Witnesses reported low visibility conditions at the time of the accident. No fatalities have been reported.
