Lewiston, MN (KROC-AM News) – A fatal crash involving a car and a dump truck resulted in one death on Monday morning, shortly after 9 a.m., on Winona County Road 29.
According to the Winona County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Zackary Wayne Ford was driving a car that rear-ended a dump truck stopped for a traffic flagger in a construction zone. The incident occurred between I-90 and County Road 18, just south of Lewiston.
In a separate report, the Minnesota State Patrol confirmed that four individuals died in a head-on collision Monday afternoon on Highway 95 in Mille Lacs County. An 80-year-old woman from Princeton crossed the center line, colliding with another vehicle. Victims included the SUV driver, the driver of the second vehicle, and two passengers, one being a 16-year-old boy from Princeton. An 18-year-old woman in the other vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries.
Additionally, the State Patrol reported a rollover crash in Kittson County on Monday evening. A 68-year-old man from Karlstad died when his pickup truck failed to navigate a curve on a rural road.
Emergency responders were dispatched to each scene, and investigations are ongoing.
