Wyoming Man Dies 11 Days After Birthday Crash Injuries.

ETNA, WYOMING — An Etna man has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on his birthday, September 17.

Daniel Jessen, 47, was involved in a single-vehicle accident shortly before 4 p.m. on Roberts-Wolfley Road (County Road 109), near milepost 1.53, just north of Etna, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Authorities stated Jessen lost control of his motorcycle while attempting to navigate a curve, subsequently going off the roadway and being ejected from the bike. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Jessen succumbed to his injuries on September 28 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. His obituary notes that he fought valiantly surrounded by family.

At the time of the incident, the roadway was reported to be wet due to rain; however, no additional contributing factors were identified in the crash summary.

This incident marks the 94th reported fatality on Wyoming highways in 2022, compared to 89 in 2021. Jessen is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and their two daughters, Hayden and Abby.
