ALBANY, Wyo. — A 72-year-old man died in a motorcycle collision with a deer on Wyoming Highway 34 on April 21 at approximately 3:00 p.m.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP), Thomas Ranz was traveling west when the animal entered the roadway. He struck the deer and was thrown from the motorcycle, coming to rest in the road.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Ranz was pronounced dead shortly after the incident. The WHP has not reported any other injuries.
Authorities closed one lane of the highway for the investigation, which is ongoing. The agency advises that additional details may be subject to change as the investigation progresses.
