STURGIS, S.D. (Local News Wire) – A Newcastle, Wyo., woman was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday at 2:41 p.m. on Junction Avenue.
The victim, identified as 60-year-old Heather Lynne Clifton, was riding her motorcycle when it collided with a car at the intersection with Interstate 90. The South Dakota Department of Public Safety reported she was exiting westbound I-90 at exit 32.
Clifton sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where she died Wednesday. The driver of the other vehicle, a Taurus, was not injured in the incident.
Authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash, but currently, no further details about fault have been released.
No lane closures or traffic disruptions were reported following the incident. The response included local emergency services.
