KXLG, Hayti, SD — A juvenile motorcycle rider sustained minor injuries in a crash on South Dakota Highway 21 near Hayti on August 4, 2026.
At approximately 8:28 p.m., Watertown Regional Dispatch Center received a call about the accident situated three miles south of Hayti, prompting a response from the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the motorcycle was heading southbound when the rider entered a curve and encountered gravel on the roadway. The motorcycle tipped onto its side and slid several feet.
The juvenile was treated for minor injuries at the scene and declined ambulance transport. The incident is under investigation by the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office.
