NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A 23-year-old man died Thursday morning in a motorcycle collision with an 18-wheeler on Clements Ferry Road.
Codie Hill, of North Charleston, was pronounced dead at 7:24 a.m. at the Medical University of South Carolina, according to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.
The crash occurred at 6:40 a.m. as Hill’s motorcycle was traveling northbound near Marina Drive when it struck the rear of an 18-wheeler turning onto the roadway.
The collision ejected Hill from the motorcycle; he subsequently struck a shipping container being towed by the truck.
Emergency responders transported Hill to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities reported that the investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area as authorities continue their investigation.
