A three-vehicle crash in Rapides Parish near Boyce claimed the life of a 24-year-old motorcyclist on Monday morning, according to Louisiana State Police.
The incident occurred at 5:15 a.m. when the driver of a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck failed to slow down and struck a 2022 Kawasaki motorcycle from behind in the northbound lanes.
Motorcyclist Dillon Jenkins, of Shreveport, was ejected and subsequently hit by a 2019 Toyota. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The drivers of the pickup and Toyota were unharmed. Toxicology samples were collected from all involved parties.
The crash is under investigation by Louisiana State Police.
