Driver Dies in Bridge Crash in Southeastern North Dakota

LISBON, N.D. — A 46-year-old man died Saturday night after his pickup struck a bridge railing on Valley Road.

The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on August 1 near 62nd Street Southeast, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Authorities reported that the driver was operating a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado eastbound when the vehicle veered off the road and hit the end of the concrete bridge railing.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained fatal injuries. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Weather conditions were clear, and the roadway was dry at the time of the crash. The crash is currently under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The Ransom County Sheriff’s Office, Lisbon Fire Department, and First Medic Ambulance of Ransom County responded to the scene.

Roadway closures were not reported.
