One Dead, Four Injured in Adams County Traffic Collision on Sunday
A 48-year-old Denver man was killed, and four others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on East 120th Avenue in Adams County on Sunday at approximately 2:49 p.m., according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The man, who has not been identified, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado westbound when he crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided with a Ford F-150 XLT. The Ford, operated by a 62-year-old Bennett man, swerved onto the shoulder in an attempt to avoid the Chevrolet, but the two trucks struck each other’s left front bumpers.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene, necessitating a closure of East 120th Avenue for several hours. The road reopened at 6:38 p.m.
The Denver driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Chevrolet, a 28-year-old man from Denver, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the Ford, all from Bennett, included the driver with serious injuries, a 61-year-old woman with moderate injuries, and a 33-year-old man with life-threatening injuries, who were also taken to the hospital.
