Fatal motorcycle crash disrupts traffic in south Macon, GA.

A motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning on Hawkinsville Road in Macon, authorities said.

Emergency responders received reports of the incident at approximately 2:50 a.m. near the North Avondale Circle intersection, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Fifty-five-year-old Dana Wayne Redd was struck by three vehicles, but only the driver of a four-door Saab remained at the scene initially, officials confirmed. The other two vehicles later returned, according to Deputy Alexis Mitchell-White.

Redd was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:20 a.m. His family has been notified, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.

The crash resulted in a complete traffic shutdown for about two hours while deputies investigated the incident. A black motorcycle was found under the front passenger side of the Saab, which displayed damage on its front hood.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials are requesting anyone with information related to the crash to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
