A man from Malaga has died following an April collision on State Route 17 near Moses Lake.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident occurred on April 21 at approximately 10:45 a.m. when 95-year-old Neil Fulwiler pulled onto the southbound shoulder of SR-17.
Fulwiler attempted to merge back into traffic when his SUV was struck by a sports car driven by 51-year-old Michele Razey of Quincy.
Troopers reported Fulwiler was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake and passed away on June 3 while on the way to hospice care. His passenger, 84-year-old Ruth Wahl of Malaga, sustained injuries and was also taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. Razey suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Troopers indicated that Fulwiler failed to yield at the time of the accident, and ruled out any involvement of drugs or alcohol.
