Motorcycle rider dies in Rockledge crash after reaching speeds of 100 mph, police report.

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. – A 21-year-old motorcycle rider died following a crash on Fiske Boulevard Saturday at approximately 2:41 p.m., police reported.

The victim, identified as Elijah Kit, was traveling southbound when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle driven by a Viera man attempting to enter Phillips Landing Subdivision. Kit’s 18-year-old passenger, reported to be his girlfriend, was airlifted to a hospital for surgery and is expected to survive.

Authorities confirmed that Kit was allegedly traveling over 100 mph at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing, but it remains unclear whether either individual was wearing a helmet or if road rage or racing contributed to the incident.

Fiske Boulevard was closed for about three hours following the crash. Emergency responders from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Cocoa Police Department assisted at the scene.

A fundraiser has been established by Kit’s family to cover funeral expenses and medical bills.
