SEBAGO (WGME) – A motorcycle crash on Convene Road in Sebago has resulted in one fatality and one critical injury.
The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities confirmed that 63-year-old Ernest Poulos died as a result of the crash.
The passenger on the motorcycle sustained critical injuries; neither individual was wearing helmets at the time of the accident, according to police.
LifeFlight responded to the scene, lifting off near Sebago Town Hall to transport the injured passenger for medical treatment.
Investigators noted that speed was a contributing factor in the crash, which involved the motorcycle crossing into the opposite lane and colliding with an SUV.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the crash. Further details regarding road closures or the status of the SUV driver have not been disclosed.
