Norfolk Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 24-Year-Old
NORFOLK, Va. — A 24-year-old Norfolk man died Saturday afternoon following a motorcycle crash on Interstate 64.
The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. on I-64 westbound at the Robin Hood Road exit, according to Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Elijah David Young was riding a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle at a high rate of speed while weaving through traffic. He lost control of the motorcycle as he attempted to take the exit, striking the guardrail.
Troopers on the scene found Young unconscious and initiated CPR until emergency medical personnel arrived. He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The crash is under active investigation by authorities.
