Sebago Motorcycle Crash Leaves One Dead, One Injured
A motorcycle crash in Sebago on Wednesday evening resulted in the death of the driver and serious injuries to a passenger.
First responders were called to Convene Road at 5:48 p.m., according to the CUMBERLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE.
Authorities reported that Ernest Poulos, 63, of Sebago was traveling westbound on a 2004 Harley Davidson when he crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV.
Poulos and his passenger, Mary Delaney, 62, also of Sebago, suffered life-threatening injuries. Neither was wearing a helmet. Poulos was transported by ambulance to Bridgton Hospital to meet a Life Flight helicopter but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Delaney was subsequently flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she remains in critical condition. The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
“Speed appears to be a factor in this crash, and it remains under investigation,” Lt. Andrew Feeney stated.
