LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — A motorcycle crash in Lynchburg late Friday night resulted in one fatality, according to police.
The incident occurred at 11:43 p.m. at the intersection of Fort Avenue and Perrymont Avenue. Authorities reported that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with two other vehicles.
The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the drivers of the other vehicles remained and are cooperating with the investigation, authorities said.
There are no charges pending at this time, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.
The intersection was closed for several hours to facilitate the investigation and clear the scene.
