Fatal Motorcycle Crash Occurs on Route 1 in Hancock
HANCOCK – A fatal motorcycle crash is under investigation by Maine State Police following an incident on Route 1 on October 13 at 8:30 a.m.
According to spokesperson Shannon Moss, 44-year-old Jim Hoyt of Sullivan was riding westbound when he crossed into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with a pickup truck. Hoyt was pronounced dead at the scene.
Route 1 was temporarily closed to facilitate an investigation and the removal of vehicles. Authorities stated the investigation remains ongoing.
