Motorcyclist Dies in Calcasieu Parish Single-Vehicle Crash

LAKE CHARLES, LA – A 27-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Louisiana Highway 3059 near Luke Powers Road on November 17, 2024, shortly after 11:00 a.m.

According to Louisiana State Police, Brandon Clark of Lake Charles was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound when he veered off the roadway and overturned for reasons still under investigation. Clark was ejected from the motorcycle.

Authorities confirmed that Clark was wearing a DOT-approved helmet but sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Standard toxicology samples have been collected from Clark and sent for analysis. While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, officials noted that impaired and distracted driving are leading causes of such incidents in Louisiana.

As a precaution, Louisiana State Police urge all motorists to stay sober, focused, and alert on the road.
