A two-vehicle crash on Highway 50 in Pettis County late Tuesday night, March 31, 2026, claimed the lives of two drivers, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred around 11:30 p.m. west of Monsees Road. A 1998 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 58-year-old man from Smithton, Missouri, crossed into oncoming traffic while traveling eastbound.
The Silverado collided head-on with a westbound 2021 Jeep Wrangler, operated by a 45-year-old woman from Green Ridge, Missouri. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seat belts.
Emergency personnel pronounced both deceased at the scene at 11:42 p.m. The vehicles were deemed a total loss and subsequently towed by Don’s Towing.
The Pettis County Sheriff’s Department provided assistance during the emergency response. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
