OTSEGO COUNTY — A 76-year-old man from Vanderbilt died in a motorcycle accident on Sparr Road yesterday.
According to the Michigan State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. near Johnson Crossing Grade in Dover Township.
Preliminary investigations show that a group of motorcycles was traveling east on Sparr Road when the victim lost control after going onto the gravel shoulder, leading to the motorcycle rolling several times.
The rider was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities stated that speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
The Otsego County Fire Department and Otsego County EMS responded to the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
