20-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies in Crash Near University of Minnesota

Minneapolis, MN — A motorcycle crash near the University of Minnesota resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man on Friday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the incident around 1:55 p.m. at the Interstate 94 and Huron Boulevard interchange. First responders located the motorcycle on the onramp to eastbound I-94.

According to the State Patrol, the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the operator lost control and crashed into a barrier. The rider, identified as Easton Macoy Kleven of Woodbury, was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the right shoulder of the highway.

Kleven was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was wearing a helmet, and authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

No additional vehicles were involved, and the investigation is ongoing. Roadway conditions were not reported as a contributing factor.
