Kaimuki (HawaiiNewsNow) – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred Thursday night on the H-1 Freeway.
The incident happened at approximately 10:45 p.m. involving a single motorcycle traveling eastbound.
According to the Honolulu Police Department, a 22-year-old male motorcyclist lost control and collided with the guardrail.
The rider was ejected onto the roadway and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities confirmed the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Initial investigations suggest speed may have been a contributing factor; however, drug or alcohol involvement remains unknown.
This marks the 74th traffic fatality on Oahu in 2025, in contrast to 41 fatalities reported by the same date in 2024.
The investigation is ongoing, with updates expected from law enforcement.
