CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Three individuals were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash involving two cars and a motorcycle on Michigan Avenue Monday night.
The incident occurred at 8:01 p.m. on September 15 at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Lilley Road. According to police, a gray Mini Cooper Countryman, driven by a 36-year-old man from Ypsilanti, was traveling west on Michigan Avenue when it crossed the median and struck a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The motorcycle, operated by a 52-year-old man from Monroe, was heading east at the time of the collision. Authorities reported that the initial crash caused the motorcycle to collide with a maroon Nissan Maxima, which was also proceeding east and driven by a 51-year-old man from Ypsilanti.
All individuals involved were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment; however, details regarding their injuries have not been disclosed.
The Canton Police Department is actively investigating the incident and has indicated that alcohol is not believed to have been a contributing factor.
No lane closures were reported following the incident.
