A motorcyclist died following a collision with a utility pole on Route 32 in Windham on Friday evening.
Troopers from Troop K and Windham EMS responded to the crash at approximately 5:53 p.m., according to the Connecticut State Police. The incident involved a 2019 Ford Explorer making a left turn into the driveway of Apollo Pizza and a southbound 2009 Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle.
State police reported that the motorcycle struck the right front of the Explorer, causing the rider to be ejected and collide with a utility pole. The Explorer then rolled forward and hit a parked 2021 Ram 1500.
The motorcyclist, identified as 30-year-old Devan Michel Nolet of Mansfield, suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was transported to Windham Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Explorer, an 83-year-old Windham man, was uninjured.
Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing.
