MANCHESTER, NH — A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries in a crash overnight on the Exit 5 off-ramp from Interstate 293 North.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Manchester Fire Department responded to reports of a motorcycle on the road near Granite Street. Upon arrival, they found the motorcycle abandoned and learned the rider had been ejected over a guardrail.
According to authorities, the victim fell approximately 65 feet to the edge of the Merrimack River after striking the guardrail. Rescue crews launched boats to reach the rider, applying tourniquets before transporting him to an area hospital.
State police identified the motorcyclist as 23-year-old Youseff Mahgoub of Bedford. He remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The incident is under investigation.
