WARD COUNTY, N.D. (KMOT) – A motorcycle crash killed two people Thursday afternoon on Highway 2 west of Minot.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. when a 62-year-old motorcyclist was traveling west.
Authorities said a 36-year-old sedan driver, who was stopped at a frontage road, attempted to cross the highway and was struck by the motorcycle.
The motorcycle’s passenger, a 64-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the motorcyclist was later declared dead at the hospital.
According to the Patrol, neither motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet. The sedan driver was buckled up and did not sustain injuries.
Charges related to the crash are under investigation, authorities stated. Responders included at least six different agencies.
