Rochester Motorcyclist Killed in Olmsted County Crash.

Update: Medical Examiner Identifies Rochester Man Who Died in Motorcycle Crash Near Oronoco

ORONOCO, MN—A 54-year-old Rochester man died after a motorcycle crash on Fisherman Drive NW on Tuesday night.

According to the Pine Island Fire Department, emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after 8:00 p.m. The motorcyclist reportedly lost control and went down an embankment, where he was found unresponsive.

The man was transported via Mayo One helicopter to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, Lieutenant Malinda Hanson of the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

Firefighters faced challenges in recovering the rider, requiring the removal of trees and the establishment of a rope system for the retrieval.

Traffic through the area was closed in both directions for approximately 45 minutes during the response, according to the Fire Department.

The identity of the deceased has not been released as authorities continue their investigation into the incident.

Mayo Clinic Ambulance and the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash scene.
