Two Men Die in Head-On Collision Near Courtenay on Friday.

COURTENAY, N.D. — Two drivers died in a head-on collision on North Dakota Highway 20 near Courtenay on Friday, July 24, at approximately 10:15 p.m., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

A 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 23-year-old man from McHenry, was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2019 GMC Sierra driven by a 54-year-old man from Edgeley. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 52-year-old woman from Edgeley, a passenger in the GMC, was wearing her seat belt but suffered serious injuries. She was transported by Jamestown Area Ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Emergency response included the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, Foster County Sheriff’s Department, and multiple fire departments from Courtenay, Wimbledon, and Carrington. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident.

No further information is available about the crash, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
