Two Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Aiken County on Easter Sunday
WARRNVILLE, S.C. — Two individuals died in a fatal motorcycle crash on the 2000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway around 10:51 a.m. on Easter Sunday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Authorities reported that 21-year-old Colton Sanders and his passenger, 17-year-old Jasmine Ambs of Thomson, Ga., were both ejected from Sanders’ 2026 Kawasaki motorcycle during a collision with a 2020 Subaru. Emergency responders pronounced both victims dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma and thermal burns shortly after 11 a.m.
The driver of the Subaru managed to escape the burning vehicle and was taken to a local hospital with injuries. The Highway Patrol’s MAIT team is investigating the incident, including a speed analysis.
Sanders, a Windsor resident and welding student at Aiken Technical College, is remembered as hardworking and committed, with plans to graduate in the fall. Ambs was noted as the mother of a one-year-old son and had three siblings, but further details regarding her are pending.
Colton’s family will hold his funeral at Shellhouse Rivers Funeral Home on Sunday at 2 p.m., with a private burial scheduled for 10:30 a.m. prior to the public celebration of life. Community support has poured in following the tragedy, helping the family during this difficult time.
