Serious Motorcycle Crash near Joplin Leaves Rider Unresponsive
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM/KJFX) — At 5:35 p.m. on Monday, a motorcycle crash occurred in the 4400 block of Courtney Lane, prompting emergency response.
A Newton County Deputy was first on the scene and initiated life-saving measures for the unresponsive 62-year-old male motorcyclist from Joplin, MO. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the man was riding a 2006 Honda Shadow westbound on McClelland Blvd when he veered off the right side of the roadway, causing the motorcycle to overturn and eject him.
Redings Mill Fire and Newton County Ambulance quickly arrived to assist. The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital for further medical care.
Chuck’s Towing removed the motorcycle and debris from the crash site. The MSHP is investigating the incident, and no additional details about the rider’s condition have been released.
